Because there was so much hiatusing last month and because the AC requirements were just changed and because it's now the last month of the seasonal plot, AC is just a check-in. Post to let us know that you're still here, and you're good! Plus, since the game is small and flexible right now, we've decided to try to take advantage of that and coordinate the best end season we can and try to arrange a role for everyone who wants one.
Links to player contact information will be provided, and there will also be a game plotting plurk.
Boone discovers the desert temple with whoever chooses to accompany him. Wander will discover one of the spawners.
This spawner will be activated by an event mid-month- and it will release the skeletons. The carbon android listed in this news post? The spawners were meant to make full defensive androids modeled after the death god of the ancient civilization, but they're so old and decayed now that the skeletons will target anyone (with the added bonus that though their arrows really hurt, their aim is no longer fantastic).
The general plan has been to have the newcomers save the village, but it can be adjusted with a small cast to take whatever damage people deem best for story. The premise has always been a little loose so that people could change what they needed to, and we don't mind making significant changes to make the setting work better if people have suggestions. We will have at least one more CR building event (as well as any posts that might be made by individual players) before the spawner is activated.
Well! Braska will definitely be good to be put on the front lines, with all of his combat magic. It'll be a big public show and everyone will get to see that shiz in action.
But since the skeletons would basically just keep coming because of the spawner, that means there'd need to be a team to go in and deal with it? :|a Braska'd be more than willing to be involved with that, but he also wouldn't mind staying back and defending the town, too.
Narvin may coward if he sees that shiz in action, because he doesn't like/is nervous about magic. (He will rather like its effectiveness, though. Just...preferring to hide behind a wall while all that is going down.)
As for plotting, I want to squeeze a little more CR in with Visscher and Kay since they're lacking. Ideally I'd like Visscher to save some people and deal with his fears some.
Also Niko's gonna need someone to come rescue his ass from the desert temple at some point as he is going to get dicked over during endgame. He'll probably be able to tell what happened so that people will know to bust up the spawner under the village.
I can probably offer someone wounded for Visscher to save. (Possibly Narvin getting exploded by a creeper because that is his life. Or Bertie injured before he goes into hiding.)
Boone is up for rescuing Niko if you like, I mean he'll already know where the temple is and since Niko is his friend he'll be pissed off about the entire thing too
I'm going to add more detail to this later, but I want to get at least bare bones out and then I'll comment again with more info when it's not middle of the night.
Belloq: Will reveal his inner dickface bastardness. He's going to betray Niko, leave him in danger in one of the temples, run off with a priceless artifact, and try to smuggle it off the planet. So in addition to the skeletons, there will be this villain running around needing stopping.
Narvin: Nothing specific in mind yet except that I want to put him in danger because that is his life. I'd be happy for him to be in a thread where he either saves someone or is saved by someone.
Bertie: Does not handle danger well. (Or serious plots.) If anyone wants a more comedic running away from danger, avoiding being killed purely through the stupidest luck, Bertie's available for it. Otherwise he'll just be holed up in the resort where it's safe.
Oh no, Narvin is in danger! Wander might attempt to rescue him and either barely succeed or, the more likely outcome, get rescued by Narvin in doing so.
I don't know Wander's canon, but I'm sort of imagining a situation where Wander tries to rescue Narvin and that distracts the focus of the skeletons long enough that Narvin can then rescue Wander from his rescue attempt, or something like that. So they sort of both rescue each other.
Wander's first plan is always to find a diplomatic solution. Then he'll realize that the skeletons don't really respond to conversation and try to distract them and/or run away (no punchy friend to help him here).
Having the skeletons divert their attention to him totally works! He has a tendency to unintentionally put himself in danger, having to depend on someone else to help him out. Plus rescuing each other sounds super adorable.
I'll have a log post with him relaying the discovery of the spawners.
Since he's not at all a fighter, once the skeletons attack, he'll work with getting the villagers to safety, then coming back to look for anyone that wasn't able to escape.
Still here with Boone! And... yeah the temple is going to be a thing, so I'll make a post soon with him finding it and asking if anyone wants to check it out with him, and then when he knows who's coming they can head inside
I would appreciate a heads up here if your character is likely to come, so I can figure out in advance how many people are going and how I should set up the post itself! So just dropping a message here or through my contact info would be super cool
Checking in! With Tauriel I currently can't brain plots RN but Tauriel is pretty much up for anything. And when I can think beyond my own navel, I will happily plot things!
Checking in for the moment with Lindir here. In terms of plots I'm undecided, but it's hard to move Lindir so I'll try poking him with a stick. I will come back to this later. :3
Checking in for Charon. I'm just coming off hiatus with him and have no idea how to really get him back into stuff but I'm open to plotting things. He's likely to be doing his security thing...everywhere. All day. Every day.
I think I joined after this was posted, so idk if you can call this checking in, but...
Yeah, okay, so I'm up for anything, honestly? Like, I'm hesitant to throw myself at plot stuff right off the bat out of general, "wait, what's happening?" but if you're already planning something, and you think Tuco could help fill a role there, I'd totally be game!
I'll be jumping into the party log post asap, so I'm up for grabbing some quick CR there, and if anyone wants to have already met this guy, that's cool, too. I figure he's been around just long enough that he's stopped mentally screaming about every alien he comes across, and technology isn't so ????? but he'll still be reasonably new.
Also I figured I'd make him a guide so maybe he's in training for that atm?

Yeah I was assuming Belloq too, so it's 3 people so far with Boone

Niko has guide training so he would know what to expect for preliminary traps.
