This is a test drive for The Last Resort. You can use one of the handy prompts or make up your own.
Prompts
Prompt #1
Your character is sent as part of a team to explore Subterranean Library #12. There are hostiles hiding in the dark that have to be safely bypassed without creating explosions and without getting shot. There are books that can be brought to the museum (or sold). What happens if two people with different intentions collide?
Prompt #2
So your character is out in the desert. It might be for a dig, a nice walk, doing something they shouldn't. Who knows? But unfortunately one of the worst invasive species is about to rear its head: a young sandworm.
This isn't something that happens often to people, and even this young it's going to take more than a normal gun as permitted on the planet, or the limited abilities that people currently possess. Most of what you would do would just slow it down.
This is one of these cases where it's better to run; you want to get to security or to a guide and report this, and you want to get out of the range of those teeth as fast as you can.
Prompt #3
You've been given a chance to tell the entire universe about your reasons for coming to the village and town as a part of a documentary in progress. Alternately, you have done so and are being confronted by your first fan in front of a friend. They've read all your fanfiction,, they ship you with some other import (maybe your friend, maybe someone else, maybe they actually hate your friend), and they printed out a picture of you that they want to have signed.
Prompt #4
Choose your own adventure (first network or log posts can later be used as game canon once related apps are approved).
Please help tag out if you're currently in the game and help introduce people to the game. If you have definitive preferences in play style, please mention it in your posts.
[Elle smiles and points over his shoulder with a bend of her wrist.
And then she starts packing things up. She doesn't really think she needs to say anything after that. She figures that the giant hungry-looking sandworm will pretty much speak for itself. It seems to have noticed the group by now, judging by the way it's looking right at them.]
[The sandworm has gone back underground, but judging by the rumbling of the ground, Elle's pretty sure that it's coming this way.
All that's left now is to pack up the last piece of equipment, which is large, heavy, and irritatingly delicate.
And, of course, it's at this point that the damn sandworm pops its head up out of the sand. Elle grabs hold of the transport in order to keep from getting knocked on her ass by the quaking.]
Get back! [she yells. And then she runs forward, towards the damn thing, drawing her hunting shotgun.] I'll try to buy us some time! [Hopefully the rest of the team can get that damn thing packed up fast, because she doesn't think she can buy them much.]
[Niles stares for a moment at the crazy woman with no self-preservation and then sets himself to packing up the gear. If she dies to save them all...well, he'll give a very nice speech about her nobility and sacrifice later. It will be moving to those who hear it, if not sincere.
He shouts to the rest of the group.]
Everyone on the transport, now! [And he hops into the driver seat to start the engine.]
[A small argument breaks out among the team. Get in the vehicle and go, or pack up the machine first.
Meanwhile, Elle is firing on the damn thing. All she seems to be accomplishing is making it angry. So, all she can do is run, now -- sideways, not backwards. She needs to know that the group is ready to drive. And if she runs, then it makes it easier for her to... d...odge...
Oh, god, here it comes. Shitshitshitshit -- She only barely manages to roll out of the way as the thing scoops down and tries to eat her. Aaahahahah. Hahaha. Ha.]
[He is not going to die to save some science equipment. No matter how expensive and difficult to replace it is. The researchers can go jek themselves.]
Get out of the way!
[He calls out. And that's the only warning he gives before he sets the transport in reverse and backs up right over the remaining gear, smashing it into trash. There's no point in packing it up now.]
[The crunching sound sure as hell gets Elle's attention. She doesn't intend to give it more than a short glance, but she ends up double-taking. Seriously? Well. Uh, alright. No time to protest or argue or anything else like that.
Elle makes sure the researchers are in the truck before she finally scrambles into the back.] Go go go go! [She'll stay facing out the back, because the damn thing is gonna follow them, she just knows it.]

If you could be a little less cryptic for those new to the planet, that would be very nice.

Shtako.
[Shit.]

So, uh, wanna give us a hand here?

Nothing would make me happier.
[Only because getting the gear packed means leaving. But he sets to gathering there gear in a manner that has quick and military efficiency.]

Fortunately, this barren desert doesn't have much that he can risk running into. It makes steering easy.]

Please tell me this thing can go faster than this, [she calls over her shoulder.]

[Still, he gives it more power, trying to eek about a bit more speed.]

Another couple of shots and the shotgun's empty.] Reloading, [ends up being her only answer, and she feeds shotshells in as fast as she can.]
