This is the first test drive for The Last Resort. You can use one of the handy prompts or make up your own.

Prompt #1
There's a new drug being passed through the seedy end of the town which gives many bipedal species the temporary ability to shapeshift into someone else of their species. Needless to say it's very dangerous. Are you working on a cure? Currently trying it out to look hot at the bar? Trying to weed out the dealers?
Prompt #2
When a cavespider attacks, usually someone doesn't lose much in the way of memories. They might not even notice what's gone. But your character has been swarmed with them and only remembers half of anything. Try to figure out some things about yourself again by talking to your friends and hope that your memories will be recovered with the reminders. Try not to take advantage of someone and lie to someone with the problem, though. Or do it, you need all the advantages you can get.
Prompt #3
A notable and extremely wealthy alien ambassador has just arrived. He loves luxury but is extremely difficult to please. He is also said to be a collector of rare artefacts and some suspect that he may be here to receive stolen goods. Are you staff complaining about his behavior? A scientist keeping a close eye on the museum collections while the ambassador around? A thief planning a heist with a friend in order to sell the goods to the ambassador?
Prompt #4
Having a drink at Pugsy's bar, because someone has to try the exotic booze. Be careful, some of it's made with blood.
Havin' some trouble there, ma'am? [Agent K heads over to the bar and taps on it.] Klingon blood wine, Pugsy. I'm feeling a little adventurous.
[Not that he's interfering, she took care of it. But he figured she could use some company from someone that didn't intend to feel her up. Sure, she was a becoming woman, definitely one of those classic beauties, and it was damn unfortunate that it made men act like idiots out here even.]
[He didn't even sympathy wince when she did what she did. He just settles onto a stool and folds his hands in front of him.]
[Una's been around long enough now to recognise Kay, though they've never really talked much before. Her general impression of him is that he's a decent sort of fellow, though.]
Nothing I can't manage. [Not a dismissal, just a statement of fact.] There's always one, it seems. But I don't think I'll have to worry about him much anymore.
Something to be said for consistency. The universal constant of jackasses somehow havin' the most sensitive parts to take a knock at? [He pulls out his cigarettes to pack them against the heel of his hand.] Isn't there a specific scientific term for that? It seems like there oughta be. It must have slipped my mind.
[He nods his thanks to the Frank-like face of the bartender before he takes a swig of his whiskey. And then?]
Points for callin' him "sunny jim". [The glass hides a brief smile before he takes a sip. Can't be caught being amused.]
Parallel evolution? Or is it convergent? [She shrugs a little and takes a sip of her drink, and smiles.] There were all kinds of things I could have called him, but that was the first one that came to mind.
[He makes a thoughtful sound.] Convergent I think it is, but I was thinkin' more like somethin' you could make an equation to. [Still, at least it was nice to sit around and have a drink with someone.]
[And kinda be an ass while he was at it.]
So anything on the menu decent or have you had the chance to be real adventurous with any of this stuff.
[She indicates her own glass, filled with a dark liquid not unlike coffee in colour.]
They've got this—well, I call it a whisky; bugger if I can pronounce the actual name. It tastes like a Laphroaig and a charred steak got a bit too friendly. Better than you'd think from that description, though, I must say. Or perhaps I've simply gotten used to it.
It's the one in that hourglass-shaped bottle up there. [She points.] Apparently it comes from a planet in a double-star system with no known sentients and some truly scary apex predators. [She shakes her head, amused.] I'm not used to this much interplanetary exchange, to be honest.
New to this sorta thing in general or just uh... not resorts?
Don't worry, like my boss says it'll either grow on you or you'll have a nervous breakdown. [His definition of not worrying differs greatly from the one held by much of the world.]
The space alien thing. Well, and having so many different sorts gathered this closely together. [A small nod in the direction of a lady with green skin getting as friendly as public decency allowed with someone who looked human enough, save for the shape of the ears, eyes, and nose.] Time is more by bailiwick. But I understand that's not a done thing, here.
Most of the green ones. They got a way of getting to your head. [He taps his temple and nods in her direction.] The ones that look a lot like that, anyway.
I figure pollen or pheromones or something. If it was psychic I could feel the tickle a little. I get nothin' out of 'em.
[The guy seems happy enough, though so as Kay sort of moves his glass around on the counter and oh so slightly wrinkles up his nose, he's actually noting the fella's having a good time. Welp. More power to him.]
